Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

The Integrative Journal of Physical Fitness and Health employs a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of the manuscripts we publish. Our peer review system is designed to provide constructive feedback to authors while maintaining confidentiality and impartiality. The process is outlined as follows:

  1. Submission and Initial Assessment:
    • Upon receipt of a manuscript, the editorial office conducts an initial assessment to ensure that it meets the journal's scope and formatting guidelines.

    • Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to an Associate Editor who oversees the peer review process.

  2. Assignment of Reviewers:
    • The Associate Editor identifies suitable experts in the field to serve as peer reviewers for the manuscript.

    • Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, qualifications, and absence of conflicts of interest.

  3. Peer Review:
    • Reviewers assess the manuscript for originality, significance, methodology, clarity, and adherence to ethical standards.

    • Reviewers provide detailed comments and recommendations to help authors improve the quality of their work.

    • The peer review process is double-blind, ensuring anonymity for both authors and reviewers.

  4. Editorial Decision:
    • Based on the reviewers' comments and recommendations, the Associate Editor makes an editorial decision regarding the manuscript.

    • Possible decisions include acceptance, minor revisions, major revisions, or rejection.

    • Authors receive the reviewers' comments and the Associate Editor's decision, along with guidance for revising their manuscript if necessary.

  5. Revision and Resubmission:
    • If revisions are requested, authors are given the opportunity to address the reviewers' comments and revise their manuscript accordingly.

    • Revised manuscripts undergo further evaluation by the Associate Editor and may be sent back to the original reviewers for re-evaluation.

  6. Final Decision:
    • After revisions are received, the Associate Editor makes a final decision on the manuscript.

    • Accepted manuscripts proceed to the production stage for copyediting, typesetting, and publication.

  7. Editorial Integrity and Confidentiality:
    • The peer review process is conducted with the utmost integrity, confidentiality, and impartiality.

    • Reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality regarding the content of the manuscripts they review.

    • Editors and reviewers declare any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where such conflicts exist.

The Integrative Journal of Physical Fitness and Health is committed to providing authors with fair, constructive, and timely feedback through our rigorous peer review process. We believe that this process is essential for maintaining the quality and credibility of the research we publish.
